‘God Of War’ becomes highest-rated Sony game on Steam

It might not be there come to the end of 2022 as the next high profile “PlayStation” game coming to PC is ‘‘God Of War’ becomes highest-rated Sony game on Steam’ sometime later this year, but for now, ‘God of War (2018) has hit Steam to universal acclaim and become the highest-rated Sony game on Steam to date.

With a current all-time peak of over 70,000 users playing the game, the first week God of War has been available on PC it has had around 30-40 thousand people playing it concurrently since release. This only takes into account the people playing on Steam, because God of War is also available via the Epic Games Store, as well. The previous biggest hitter in the category was Horizon Zero Dawn, which had over 56,000 concurrent players during its launch period of August 2020. With just under ten thousand reviews at the time of writing, God of War has already hit the overwhelmingly positive review status on Steam as well.

This news will be music to Sony’s ears, especially on the back of word getting out that a collective of studios convinced Sony to port more games to PC, and despite success with this, Days Gone, and Horizon Zero Dawn, apparently Sony is taking the PC business one title at a time. Looking forward there are, of course, sequels to both God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, and while many will feel that the company is leaving money on the table by not announcing PC versions as yet, there are also older exclusives like Bloodborne that people are still clamoring for PC versions of, should Sony decide to dig into its back catalog.
